DevLog #7 Booster Packs
Pack cracking that doesn't break the bank.
Welcome our MTG Doctor DevLogs where we cover the changes that are being made to MTG Doctor as part of our Phoenix release coming later this year. Today we’ll be going over the new experiences we are adding to the Booster Packs feature.
Booster Packs
The booster pack features allows for the generation of booster packs that can be cracked.

The first thing we did for this redesign is bring the controls towards the bottom of the screen. This makes them more accessible when handling the device with a single hand. Set selection, batch amount and the clear boosters have now been moved to this new location.

The different configuration fields have been updated in this redesign and their layout improved for clarity.

We also set out to make better use of the real estate available by moving away from the previous list format and to a grid layout allowing more packs to be displayed on a single line. We also moved in the direction of using iconography to better convey the information regarding the pack’s state and improve the overall glanceability of the screen.
Booster Packs
For the booster pack view we are keeping the experiences that worked while also adding some new ones.

The view itself saw only some minor styling changes and largely remains the same as the one we know and love.
The one new addition is that information view. This allows us to toggle between the image card view which is the default and a view of only textual information about the card. Great for situations where network connectivity is not great.
